he Shadow Studio creates startlingly accurate silhouettes of its subjects, which run the range from Harry Potter, to Disney princesses, and our heroes Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, of course. The artist, whose username is inknpaint, elaborates on how these amazing portraits are concocted: “I’m a silhouettist and cut-paper artist. All pieces are cut by hand using surgical scissors and sometimes a scalpel.”

To celebrate Independence Day, we have the darling entry below: “I thought I’d cut silhouettes of two of my favorite modern patriots for the occasion: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.”

“A while ago I built a Stephen Colbert puppet for season two of my web series Dotboom. The idea was that I would attempt to get the real Stephen Colbert to provide his voice as a guest-star.”

So explains Ontario, Canada based puppeteer Brian Hogg. On his behance website, Mr. Hogg details his concerted effort to both build this adorable puppet and create a groundswell of support to get our fearless host to lend his voice for his “Stephen Colbert Puppet Challenge.” Although Hogg was unsuccessful, the result is charming, don’t you think?
